Chapada Diamantina
Chapada Diamantina is a large national park of tall flat mountains, deep valleys, and waterfalls in the state of Bahia. Its name means Diamond Highlands because miners once searched for diamonds here.
It is loved by hikers and explorers for its caves, glowing blue pools, and giant waterfalls. Adventurers come to climb the flat-topped hills and swim in the cool, crystal water.
Glowing Blue Caves
Deep inside some caves are pools of water that glow bright blue when sunlight shines in. The color is so clear and magical that it looks almost unreal.
Tall Waterfalls
The park has one of the tallest waterfalls in Brazil, dropping down a huge cliff into a misty valley. Some falls have pools at the bottom where you can swim.
Table-Top Mountains
Many of the mountains have flat tops, like giant tables rising above the green land. Hikers climb them to watch the sun set over miles of rolling hills.
