Valencia

About 800 thousand people.

Valencia

Valencia is a sunny seaside city and the birthplace of paella, one of Spain's most famous foods. It mixes very old streets with a futuristic space-age science park.

Explore the space-ship shaped buildings of the City of Arts and Sciences, meet sharks at its giant aquarium, and ride bikes through a long green park built in an old river bed.

Science and space

The City of Arts and Sciences looks like it came from the future, with white buildings shaped like eyes and whale skeletons. Inside you can touch experiments and watch movies on a dome ceiling.

Food

Paella, a big pan of yellow rice with vegetables, chicken, or seafood, was invented right here. Families cook it together outdoors on special weekends.
