About 800 thousand people in the metro area.

San Miguel de Tucuman

San Miguel de Tucuman is the biggest city in northern Argentina and is very important to the country's history. It is where Argentina declared its independence in 1816.

You can visit the Casa Historica, the house where independence was signed, and enjoy the lush green hills nearby. The city is also known for a tasty little meat pie called the empanada tucumana.
