Linden

Linden is Guyana's second largest town, built on the Demerara River deep in the forest. It grew because of bauxite mining, the reddish rock used to make aluminum.
You can see the big mining pits, ride a boat on the wide Demerara River, and spot the red earth that gives the whole town its special color.
