Lethem is a frontier town in Guyana's far south, sitting in the wide open Rupununi savannah near the border with Brazil. It is very different from the coast, with grassy plains instead of forest.
You can see cowboys and cattle ranches, watch the yearly Rupununi Rodeo, and spot amazing wildlife like giant anteaters on the open grasslands.
