About 3 thousand people.

Brownsweg is a village in central Suriname near the huge Brokopondo Reservoir, one of the biggest lakes in the world made by people. Many Maroon families live here.
You can take a boat onto the giant lake to see treetops poking out of the water and visit nearby rainforest nature parks. It is a doorway to Suriname's wild green interior.
The Brokopondo Reservoir is so big that old treetops still stick up out of the water. Boat trips here feel like an adventure.
Near the village are nature parks full of tall trees, monkeys, and birds. It is a wonderful place to explore the jungle.
